Flavorful & Simple: Elevate Your Cooking with Dried Mushrooms
If you haven’t cooked with dried mushrooms before, you’re missing out! We certainly love cooking with fresh mushrooms, but dried mushrooms also offer some unique benefits:
For starters, their natural flavors are concentrated during the drying process, giving them an intense umami punch that can elevate broths, sauces, and other dishes. Unlike fresh mushrooms, which have a shorter shelf life, dried mushrooms can be stored for months or even years, making them a convenient pantry staple to have on hand. They’re also lightweight, compact, and easy to store, which makes them perfect for meal prepping or even travel-friendly cooking. We love the simplicity of doing a crockpot dump meal where we add meat, veggies, and dried mushrooms together and slow cook throughout the day - the soaking liquid also becomes a rich, flavorful broth!
Our Forager’s Blend is a 1.5 oz. mix of our dried, gourmet mushrooms. It most often consists of a mix of oyster, lion’s mane, black pearl, and chestnut mushrooms - it’s a great way to try out the unique flavors and textures of many different mushrooms all at once if you’ve never given them a try!
